GENDER BASED VIOLENCE (GBV)

Gender based violence (GBV) has become a persistent problem in South Africa. South Africa is one of the countries which have the highest rate of violence against women and children. This thing shatters a millions of children and women in our society, the statistics confirmed the number of GBV crisis has rapidly increased under the Covid-19 lockdown pandemic. The crime against gender based violence reported every day; women are fear to walk around the street, dress the way they want without being labels as sex object and they are also trapped inside with some of their intimate abusers, couldn’t leave or escape to reach out for help.

Lots of sexual violence in South Africa is unknown, Many of the sexual violence go unreported, this it’s not only affect the state institution, but often the victim’s family and friends. Many of victim’s do not tell anyone about their experience. Gender Based Violence (GBV) is a both human rights and public health issue you must know that  this thing is not only affect the individuals but has a bad impact on victim families and communities in large. GBV is not only happen sexually, it can be both emotional abuses, mental, psychological and physical. Women and children had been crying out every day seeking for help.

This violence can be initiate by intimate partners, family or a stranger person. The researched also confirmed that most of violence are caused/ committed by man against women and children. The rape survivors had come across some of the consequences of violence lie physical effect such as scars, death, early labour if the individual is pregnant and other effects. Week ago South Africa remember the death of 19 year old Cape town Student Uyinene Mrwetyana who was raped and brutally murdered  by Luyanda Botha later on August 2019.

Every day is a heart pounding waiting hear or see which children or women are the rape survivors or other assaulted by the soulless South Africa man. Enough is enough as man I asked myself, should I be quiet my conscience denied. It is high time South Africa becomes unite and fight against gender based violence. Man need to hold accountable for their disgusting actions, the live of our felly sister, mother and siblings are constantly in danger because of man who are raised to feel superior.

Because you buying her lunch, seeing her dressing somehow that doesn't give you right to assault her

Do you think if you end a relationship with her you would be regarded as a fool? Yes, be a fool prioritising your own life. What is it that can't be said, to an extent that you end up cutting yourself this much? Are you really going to bear the pain of what is beyond the pain itself just because you are afraid of what people will say? Little did you know, people also have their own burdens? Burdens that are even more to yours but they chose to be quiet about. No, don't be silent like them because the pains have no place it can be bottled at on your body. it is now time to a to develop a guidance for getting system to climate the issue of gender based violence as country, professional help, support group for the GBV survivors. Together we can make it STOP GENDER BASE VIOLENCE.
